Case study
Intelligent Health Ltd. entrusted us with two projects at once. We were to build a new mobile app that aimed to make street games digital and more pleasant. It was an innovation as children were using magnetic cards before.
The second project was a web app for administrative purposes. The client required a centralised place for managing street games and schools that participate with them, defining localisations, ordering magnetic cards, and so on.
The primary goal of the mobile app was to provide children with a companion that could replace plastic cards during the games in order to help them achieve their goals and reach specific destinations. The app allowed children to collect points, monitor their scores and achievements, and offered assistance in finding and navigating to designated checkpoint locations. Importantly, the app was designed not to reward children if they traveled by car or bus, encouraging more active modes of transportation (like going by foot or by bike).
The web portal was developed to streamline the planning, creation, and management of street games. It provided insights into game statistics and facilitated user management. Throughout the development process of the administration portal, there arose a need for a more efficient website, which was subsequently addressed.
One of the key factors that made this project stand out from others was its focus on children’s well-being and physical activity. By replacing plastic cards with a mobile app, the project encouraged children to engage in physical activities, improving their health and fostering stronger bonds with their parents. The initiative’s alignment with Intelligent Health’s mission further highlights its significance.
The project also paid attention to important considerations such as security and GDPR compliance. Recognizing that the target users were children, the system was built to be ultra-secure. Additionally, as the initiative received government support, it had to fulfill accessibility requirements.
Thanks to the efforts put into the project, a fully functional mobile application was successfully created and is now being used by thousands of children every summer. By promoting physical activity combined with fun, the project has had a positive impact on the health and well-being of many children and their families and we couldn’t be prouder.
